Tehran: Amid the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, the Embassy of India in Tehran has advised all Indian nationals to move out of the Iranian capital and relocate to safer areas. The advisory was issued on Tuesday as the two countries entered the fifth day of direct strikes against each other.
“All Indian nationals who are in Tehran and not in contact with the Embassy are urged to immediately reach out and share their current location and contact details,” the embassy said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The advisory further requested that those who can leave Tehran using their own resources do so at the earliest and shift to safer locations outside the city.
The ongoing conflict, which has seen targeted Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear, missile, and military infrastructure since Friday, prompted retaliatory attacks by Iran on Israeli targets. The intensification of hostilities has raised serious concerns for civilians, including the sizable Indian community in Tehran.
Underscoring the urgency of the situation, U S President Donald Trump cut short his participation in the G7 summit in Canada to return to Washington. He also issued a warning urging Iranians to evacuate Tehran, highlighting the risk faced by the city’s nearly 10 million residents.
In response to the rapidly deteriorating security situation, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi has activated a 24x7 Control Room. The contact details are as follows:
