The India Meteorological Department has upgraded its rain warning for Kerala, issuing a Red Alert for Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad, while Orange and Yellow Alerts remain in force for several other districts as heavy rainfall continues.

The World Obesity Atlas report shows that overweight and obesity are increasing among children in India. In India, 1.5 crore children aged 5 to 9 and more than 2.6 crore children aged 10 to 19 are overweight or obese, according to the report. India ranks second in the number of children with a high BMI. Countries, including India, have failed to meet the global target of reducing childhood obesity by 2025. This deadline has now been extended to 2030.
