Dharmasthala: In a major development in the ongoing investigation into alleged mass burials in Karnataka’s Dharmasthala, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has unearthed partial skeletal remains at site number 6. This marks the first time that physical evidence has been recovered in the high-profile case. The recovered skeletal remains, notably missing the skull, are believed to be those of a man. The whistleblower has further alleged that several more bodies may be buried nearby.

The discovery was made during an exhumation prompted by claims from a former sanitation worker, who alleged that he was coerced into burying and cremating the bodies of women and minors, many of whom, he claims, showed signs of sexual assault, between 1998 and 2014 in the temple town.

The recovered remains have been secured by forensic experts on site and will undergo detailed analysis to determine their age, identity, and the circumstances surrounding their burial, according to officials.
