Indian Air Force' AN-32 Aircraft Catches Fire After Landing in Assam’s Jorhat

Dispur: An Indian Air Force aircraft caught fire shortly after landing in Jorhat. The incident involved an An-32 transport aircraft.
According to reports, the aircraft lost control after touchdown and crashed into an open area near the runway in Jorhat. The accident occurred close to one of the Indian Air Force’s key operational bases in Northeast India.
Information regarding the pilot’s condition has not yet been officially released. Some national media reports have suggested the possibility that the pilot may have been killed in the accident, but there has been no official confirmation.
Authorities in the Indian Air Force are currently gathering details and assessing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The AN-32 remains one of the Indian Air Force’s most widely used transport aircraft and continues to play an important role in military movement and logistics operations across the country.
Reports note that since 1986, around 22 accidents involving AN-32 aircraft have been recorded in India, with the most recent incident before this occurring last year.
