New Delhi: A 28-year-old woman and her three children died after their house collapsed in Delhi’s Najafgarh area on Friday morning, following heavy rains and strong winds, officials said. According to authorities, a neem tree fell onto the structure due to gusty winds, causing it to collapse. The victims were identified as Jyoti and her children — Aryan (7), Rishabh (5), and Priyansh (7 months). Jyoti’s husband, Ajay (30), sustained minor injuries to his chest and wrist.

In another incident, a wall collapse in Dwarka’s Chhawla area left three members of a family injured. Omprakash (41) and his sons Love (13) and Saurabh (15) suffered minor injuries, a senior police officer said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh stated that a PCR call was received at 5:26 am reporting a house collapse in Kharkhari Nahar village near Jaffarpur Kalan. Upon arrival, police found that a tree had toppled onto a room built on the property, trapping a family of five beneath the debris.
"With assistance from the fire department, all five were pulled from the rubble and taken to a nearby hospital in Jaffarpur Kalan, where four of them were declared dead," Singh said. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received the first call at 5:25 am and deployed multiple teams to the site. “Four people were rescued from the rubble,” a DFS official confirmed.
Around 5:30 am, another PCR call reported the wall collapse in Paprawat village near Prahlad Mandir. “No serious injuries were reported. All three injured were taken to a hospital by CAT ambulance and are out of danger,” Singh added.
The downpour and high-velocity winds also disrupted flight operations and caused widespread waterlogging, leading to traffic snarls across the city. Numerous trees were uprooted, and a dust storm was reported in the early hours. The DFS said it received over 80 calls since 5 am, including several related to fallen trees and structural damage.
