Heat Intensifies in Northwestern India; Temperatures to Soar

New Delhi: Summer is intensifying in different parts of India. The Central Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures will rise in the northwestern part of the country in the coming days. According to the current scenario, temperatures are expected to increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
States like Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh are likely to face heatwave-like conditions in the coming days. The influence of the western winds and clear skies is causing the heat to increase. Meteorologists state that the rise in temperatures in February indicates the arrival of a hot summer.
The Health Department has issued a warning, advising people going out during the afternoon to take precautions and drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Meanwhile, isolated rain or snowfall may occur in the Himalayan regions, but the heat will continue in the plains. Reports indicate that temperatures in North India are rising even as there is a possibility of summer rain in Kerala.
There is also concern that the rising temperatures in northwestern India may affect the agricultural sector.
