New Delhi: Delhi Police have heightened security arrangements across the national capital ahead of a proposed protest announced by the digital collective Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Additional personnel have been deployed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, major transit hubs, border checkpoints and other sensitive locations to prevent any disruption to public order.
The security measures follow calls by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who recently urged supporters and students to participate in a demonstration in Delhi and gather at the airport on June 6. While police officials said no formal request for permission to hold a protest has been submitted, authorities have acted on intelligence inputs and social media activity linked to the campaign.
Sources indicated that over 1,000 police personnel have been assigned to strategic locations across the city. Security has been reinforced at railway stations, inter-state bus terminals and entry points connecting Delhi with neighbouring states. Vehicle inspections have also been intensified on key routes leading to central Delhi, while barricades have been erected around the airport area.
Senior police officers reviewed preparedness during a high-level meeting and instructed field units to remain alert. Reserve forces have been kept on standby, and coordination is underway with intelligence agencies and other security bodies to closely monitor developments.
Police officials said adequate arrangements are in place to ensure public safety and maintain smooth movement of commuters.
The CJP began as an online satirical movement following remarks made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a court hearing last month. Since then, it has evolved into a coordinated digital campaign that has gained considerable traction on social media.
Meanwhile, the founder of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Abhijeet Dipke has arrived in Delhi from US.
