Delhi’s Air Quality Stays ‘Very Poor’; AQI at 335, Temperature Drops to 6.8°C

New Delhi: Air pollution in the national capital continues without relief, with the air quality remaining in the ‘very poor’ category. On Saturday morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 335. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board’s Sameer app, all 36 monitoring stations across Delhi reported ‘very poor’ air quality. The worst AQI of 387 was recorded in Mundka.


As per CPCB classification the AQI of 0–50 remains good, 51–100 is satisfactory, 101–200 is moderate, 201–300 falls in the poor category, 301–400 is very Poor and 401–500 falls under the severe category.


Delhi’s air quality has sharply deteriorated over the past week, entering the "severe" category. The city recorded an AQI of 279 on Sunday, 304 on Monday, a jump to 372 on Tuesday, 342 on Wednesday, 304 on Thursday, and 327 on Friday, consistently staying in the ‘very poor’ range.


Meanwhile, the minimum temperature dipped to 6.8°C, which is 2.7°C below normal. Morning humidity touched 95%. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is expected to see partly cloudy skies today, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 24°C.
