Delhi Air Quality in “Very Poor” Category; AQI at 323 Amid Cold Weather

New Delhi: The air quality in the national capital continues to remain in a “very poor” category. According to morning readings, the Air Quality Index (AQI) stands at 323. Thirty monitoring stations across the city reported “very poor” conditions. Bawana recorded the highest AQI at 373.
On Sunday, the city’s AQI was 279, which increased to 304 on Monday. By Tuesday, it rose sharply to 372, reaching the “severe” category. On Wednesday, the AQI recorded 342, before dropping slightly to 304 on Thursday, again classified as “very poor.”
As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), an AQI between 0–50 is considered “good,” 51–100 “satisfactory,” 101–200 “moderate,” 201–300 “poor,” 301–400 “very poor,” and 401–500 “severe.”
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cold weather in Delhi today. The minimum temperature dropped to 5.6°C, which is 3.9°C below normal. Relative humidity reached 100%, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 22°C during the afternoon.
