CITU, AIKS, AIAWU in Bihar Mobilise for July 9 All-India Strike

Patna: Bihar units of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), and All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU) held a state -level joint meeting at the CITU state office in Patna to prepare for the upcoming All India Strike and Rural Hartal on 9 July. More than 100 leading activists from all three class organisations attended the session, underlining the scale and seriousness of the mobilisation.
The meeting was also attended by key leaders from the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), Students' Federation of India (SFI), and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), reflecting broader Left unity ahead of the nationwide action.
The gathering was addressed by prominent national leaders including Dr. Ashok Dhawale, President of AIKS, A R Sindhu, Secretary of CITU, and Dr Vikram Singh, Joint Secretary of AIAWU. They highlighted the urgent political need for the strike, which is being organised in protest against the anti -people, pro- corporate, and communal policies of the Modi- led BJP -RSS central government.

In a notable development, the RJD -led Mahagatbandhan alliance has extended full support to the July 9 strike, bolstering its political significance and momentum.
State general secretaries Vinod Kumar (AIKS), Bhola Prasad Diwakar (AIAWU), and Anupam Kumar (CITU) presented a concrete plan for a widespread campaign across Bihar to mobilise support and ensure the success of the strike.
The meeting was presided over jointly by the three state presidents, Ganesh Shankar Singh (CITU), Rajendra Prasad Singh (AIKS), and Devendra Chaurasia (AIAWU), who reiterated the call for unity and resistance in the face of continued attacks on workers, farmers, and agricultural labourers.
