Ram Temple Donation Scam Reveals 'Real Face' of RSS, BJP, Says Binoy Viswam

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam said the country is now witnessing the real face of the RSS and the BJP, who seized political power by invoking Ayodhya and Lord Ram.

For the Sangh Parivar, which demolished the Babri Masjid and undermined the foundations of secularism, faith and temples have always been mere stepping stones to political gain, he said. The Ram Temple at Ayodhya, he alleged, was nothing but a tool for Narendra Modi and his associates — who have turned religion and god into a cover for the politics of hatred — to amass enormous wealth.

It was Prime Minister Modi himself who conducted the consecration ceremony at Ayodhya, even sidelining spiritual leaders in the process, he said. It is from there, he alleged, that Rs 1,400 crore was looted, with tonnes of gold and silver offered by devotees also going missing.

People across the country, Binoy Viswam said, are now asking whether the BJP holds Ravana — who abducted Sita — in higher regard than Lord Ram, the epitome of righteousness. He said the people would teach the RSS and BJP leadership, who fanned the flames of the loot at the Ayodhya temple, a lesson in the upcoming elections.
