CJP Demands Maharashtra Education Minister's Resignation Over Poor State of Government Schools in BJP-Ruled State

CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke
Mumbai: CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday called for the resignation of Maharashtra's School Education Minister Dada Bhuse, accusing the BJP-ruled state government of neglecting basic infrastructure in government schools while ministers' own pets enjoyed better living conditions than students.
Speaking to reporters during a visit to a Zilla Parishad school in Ujani village, Ausa tehsil, Dipke said the issue went beyond politics and concerned children's safety and futures. He questioned why people should vote for leaders who fail to act for students, asking, "Do people vote for them so that they can only travel in helicopters?" He added that "the dogs of these ministers get better facilities than this."
Dipke, who leads the CJP's ongoing 'School Thik Karo' campaign aimed at improving public school conditions, said elected representatives across party lines needed to be held accountable. He urged citizens to press political leaders to prioritise education before seeking votes, drawing a comparison to how people mobilise around religious and caste identities.
The CJP leader also suggested that ministers and legislators send their own children to study in government schools to personally understand the hardships faced by students, arguing that a decade in power had not translated into meaningful improvement. He pointed to schools still functioning with leaking roofs and insufficient seating.
On a separate matter, Dipke commented on the CBI investigation into the NEET paper leak case, alleging that the probe was targeting only lower-level accused while shielding more influential figures allegedly involved.
He said public pressure remained key to driving change and cautioned that continued inaction could trigger wider protests across rural Maharashtra.
