Sabarimala Gold Theft Probe: Gold Plates to Be Loosened and Tested on High Court’s Orders

Thiruvananthapuram: To trace the gold missing from the Sabarimala Dwarapalaka sculptural panel and the 'Kattilappadi' (the wooden threshold/steps), the special investigation team will loosen and examine the gold plates.

Samples from the plates will be sent for scientific testing. The inspection will take place on Monday. The High Court had directed that scientific testing be carried out. At present, the theft of gold from the Dwarapalaka sculptures and from the Kattilappadi inside the sanctum is being investigated as two separate cases.
