Court Denies Bail to Rahul Easwar, Remands Him for 14 Days in Cyber Attack Case

Thiruvananthapuram: In the case related to the cyber attack on the survivor in the sexual assault case involving Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, the court has denied bail to accused Rahul Easwar and remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. The order was issued by the Vanchiyoor ACJM court, based on the complaint originally registered by the survivor at the Nemom police station.
According to the police remand report, Rahul Easwar, the fifth accused in the case, had publicly disclosed personal details of the survivor through his Facebook and YouTube channels.
He has been charged under non-bailable sections. After being taken into custody around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Easwar was brought to the Nandavanam AR Camp, where he was interrogated by the Cyber Police Assistant Commissioner and other officers. His arrest was formally recorded and he underwent medical examination. Following the evidence collection, he was subjected to a second medical check before being produced before the court.
