Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief MInister Pinarayi Vijyan has expressed condolences over the demise of veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra. In his tribute note, he stated that Dharmendra was an actor that transcended languages and regions. He also added that the nation lost a legendary artist. The CM further stated that the late actor had a remarkable career, over which, he captivated fans with his versatile performances.


Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has expressed deep condolences over the passing of Bollywood icon Dharmendra. In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said that the nation has lost a gifted artist who earned everlasting admiration as a beloved hero across generations, transcending languages and regions.

Chief Minister’s Statement


The Chief Minister noted that Dharmendra was a towering talent who won the hearts of audiences nationwide without any linguistic or regional barriers. Over a remarkable career spanning six and a half decades, he captivated fans with his versatile performances. Dharmendra was a constant and influential presence in Bollywood during the 1960s and 1970s, and his roles in classics like Sholay remain unforgettable.


He added that Dharmendra's popularity extended far beyond India's borders, with his characters gaining widespread acclaim even in countries like the former Soviet Union. Throughout his illustrious acting journey, Dharmendra received numerous honours, including the Padma Bhushan. He was also active in public life and politics.


The Chief Minister concluded by saying that he shares the grief of millions of fans across the country mourning the legendary actor’s demise.





Meanwhile, CPM General Secretary M.A. Baby said that the film industry has lost an iconic figure who remained a favourite of audiences for more than six decades.


He noted that Dharmendra’s contributions to Indian cinema were remarkable, and his performances left a lasting impact across generations. Baby added that the actor’s demise marks the end of an era in Bollywood and leaves millions of fans in grief.


The CPM leader conveyed solidarity with Dharmendra’s family, colleagues, and admirers during this moment of sorrow.
