Palakkad: Chenthamara, who was found guilty in the Nenmara double murder case, continued to issue threats inside the courtroom after the verdict. Responding to the court's question on whether he had anything to say before sentencing, he declared that he was willing to face the death penalty and warned that he would commit more crimes if necessary.

"I am not Mahatma Gandhi to turn the other cheek if someone slaps me. If necessary, I will kill others again. Write whatever you want. Sentence me to death. You will understand my situation only if you go through it yourself. Whoever stands in my way will be treated the same," Chenthamara told the court.

The Palakkad Additional Sessions Court had earlier found Chenthamara guilty of murdering Pothundi residents Sudhakaran and his mother Lakshmi. The court is scheduled to pronounce the sentence on Wednesday.

The murders took place on January 27, 2025, when Chenthamara (Chenthamarakshan, 60) hacked to death his neighbours, Sudhakaran and Lakshmi.

Chenthamara had previously been imprisoned in connection with the 2019 murder of Sudhakaran's wife, Sajitha. He committed the double murder after being released on bail in that case.
