KSKTU Files Complaint With Speaker Against BJP MLA V Muraleedharan Over Casteist Remarks at Tribal School

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Karshaka Thozhilali Union (KSKTU) has filed a complaint with the Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker against BJP MLA V Muraleedharan, alleging that he made casteist and caste-discriminatory remarks against newly admitted Scheduled Tribe students at the Kattela Model Residential School.
The union's complaint states that the humiliation and insult suffered by tribal students at the hands of a sitting MLA is unbecoming of a legislator and incompatible with the dignity of the Assembly and the constitutional conduct expected of its members. The union pointed out that an elected representative who has taken oath on the Constitution is bound to uphold its values, norms, and principles, and that such incidents must never be repeated by any member of the legislature.
KSKTU demanded a serious investigation into the upper-caste slur and casteist remarks made by the MLA against students of the Kattela Tribal LP School, and called for appropriate action against him.
