Kozhikode: Students have filed complaints against faculty members at Kozhikode Medical College, accusing them of mentally harassing students. Following the complaints, the Administrative Tribunal intervened and issued an order directing the transfer of the teachers facing allegations.

However, according to reports, the authorities are allegedly protecting the faculty members instead of implementing the transfer order. Students have raised complaints against Dr Anita Kumari and Dr Smitha, both faculty members of the Department of Psychiatry.

The students alleged that the teachers mentally harassed them and displayed personal animosity in academic matters. An inquiry found merit in the complaints, following which the Administrative Tribunal issued an order for their transfer.

However, no action has been taken. Moreover, while the case is pending, one of the teachers has been appointed as the temporary Head of Department. Students have raised fresh complaints over the decision, alleging that the authorities are deliberately protecting the teachers against whom action has been initiated.

The students also alleged that the authorities are deliberately delaying the transfers to give the teachers time to approach the High Court and secure a favourable order.
