MG Suresh Kumar Challenges CM's Defence of GNA Power Deal, Questions Who Approved the Offer

Thiruvananthapuram: Vice-President of the Electricity Employees Federation of India, MG Suresh Kumar, has strongly criticised Chief Minister V D Satheesan's justification of the General Network Access (GNA) power agreement. Suresh Kumar also mocked the Chief Minister's remark that he does not sign documents handed to him without scrutiny, asking which GNA document the Chief Minister had signed.
The criticism was made in a Facebook post, in which Suresh Kumar raised a series of questions about the Chief Minister's claims. He asked why the Chief Minister had personally accepted an 'offer' from GNA, which does not have a trading licence and is not a power generator. He also challenged the government to make the offer public.
The full text of the Facebook post:
"Not signing a tissue paper handed to you is being presented as a powerful statement.
Then which document of GNA did the Chief Minister sign?
Why did the Chief Minister personally accept an 'offer' from GNA, which neither has a trading licence nor is a power generator?
The Chief Minister said that a decision had been taken on the agreements submitted by the KSEB.
However, the KSEB's notes state that it is submitting a report regarding the offers received from the government.
It was the government that received the offer. In any case, it was neither the Electricity Minister nor the Power Secretary. The government must clarify whether the Chief Minister or the Chief Secretary received it directly.
The government should also be ready to make the said 'offer' public. Does it have the courage?"
