Kerala Local Body Election: LDF Announces First List of Candidates for Thiruvananthapuram Corporation

Thiruvananthapuram: The Left Democratic Front (LDF) has announced the first list of its candidates for the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections. CPI(M) district secretary V. Joy released the list at a press conference, revealing candidates for 93 wards. Candidates for the remaining eight wards will be announced after completing discussions with alliance partners.
The CPI(M) will field candidates in 70 wards, the CPI in 17, Kerala Congress (M) and RJD in three each, Janata Dal (S) in two, and one seat each will be contested by the INL, Congress (S), NCP, Kerala Congress (B), Janadhipathya Kerala Congress, and JSS.
The LDF’s candidate lineup features a blend of youth and experience, with 13 candidates under the age of 30 and 12 under the age of 40.
V. Joy said that the selected candidates are individuals actively involved in various sectors of society. He noted that the LDF was instrumental in initiating and completing the major development projects that transformed Thiruvananthapuram into its present form. The LDF’s goal, he added, is to elevate the Corporation to global standards. Expressing confidence, he said the LDF is certain of securing victory in the upcoming election.
