Uttarakhand Governor’s Helicopter Experiences Technical Fault; Makes Emergency Landing

Dehradun: Utharakhand governor Gurmit Singh's helicopter made an emergency landing after developing a technical fault. The pilot diverted the aircraft after noticing the technical issue. The helicopter, owned by the Government of Uttarakhand, experienced the malfunction during the flight.

The pilot, who noticed the problem during the flight, immediately diverted the helicopter to the GVK helipad in Srinagar. Authorities said that a major accident was averted due to the pilot’s timely intervention. Gurmit Singh is reportedly safe and has been shifted to the police guest house in Srinagar. Technical experts are currently conducting a detailed inspection of the helicopter.

The incident occurred while the Governor was returning after attending the Tehri Lake Festival. Official sources said that a decision on the Governor’s onward journey will be taken only after the technical inspections are completed.
