One Killed as Fire Breaks Out in Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: One passenger was killed after a fire broke out in two coaches of the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Exprress in Andhra Pradesh.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday. According to police officials, they received information about the accident at around 12.45 am. As per official information, there were 82 passengers in the one of the coaches and 76 on the other at the time of the fire.
A dead body was found in the B1 AC coach. The victim has been identified as Chandrasekhar Sundar from Vijaywada.
According to reports by media outlets, the police reached the conclusion that the fire broke out in the B1 AC coach near Elamanchili railway station. The victim was reportedly trapped inside the coach and could not be rescued in time.
Following the incident, train services on the route were disrupted fro some time. Police has informed that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. Two forensic units have been deployed to the site to investigate the origin of the fire.
