In Tamil Nadu, 234 constituencies go to count across 62 centres, with the ruling DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance pitted against the AIADMK-led NDA in a battle complicated by the debut of actor-politician Vijay's TVK, which exit polls suggest could play kingmaker in a closer-than-expected contest.

In Assam, 126 seats are up for grabs across 40 centres, where Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's BJP seeks a historic third consecutive term against a Congress-led challenge — most exit polls projecting a comfortable NDA return with 88 to 100 seats.

And in West Bengal, 293 of 294 constituencies go to count across 77 centres, in what is shaping up as the most unpredictable of the three verdicts — exit polls are sharply divided between a BJP breakthrough and a TMC retention, against the backdrop of a record 92 per cent turnout and a bitter campaign defined by allegations of voter list manipulation, identity politics and governance failures.
