Kozhikode: The SFI All India Conference has declared that it will not allow the central government to use governors to impose RSS rule in states governed by non -BJP parties. Governors are acting as agents of the RSS in its attempts to interfere in the education sector, and this cannot be permitted, said SFI All India Joint Secretary Srijan Bhattacharya and Vice President K Anushree at a press conference.

They cited the recent controversy over the Bharathamatha picture at the Kerala Raj Bhavan's public function a s an example. If the new governor continues the same stance as the previous one, the SFI will launch strong protests. Universities are autonomous institutions and in matters related to them, governors must act in consultation with the state government, not unilaterally.

The conference also discussed the Modi government’s move to impose the new National Education Policy, issues related to privatisation, and other challenges in the education sector. A total of 37 representatives from 14 universities took part in a three-hour-long discussion.

The conference passed resolutions demanding an end to war and terrorism, assurance of safe and secure employment for all, universal internet access across the country, and protection of Adivasi communities.

People in Kashmir are becoming victims of both fascism and terrorism alike, and the struggle against terrorism will continue, said representative from Kashmir, Akeel Yousuf. There is no gender discrimination within the SFI, and in many states, young women have emerged into leadership positions, added Anushree.
