New Delhi: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) is calling for a nationwide protest on March 10, 2026, in response to the US-Israel aggression against Iran and their broader imperialistic actions around the world. The violence in the Middle East, which has killed thousands, including 183 girl students, and led to bombings of schools and hospitals, is seen as a deliberate attempt by the US and Israel to destabilise the region. Despite India’s historical commitment to world peace, the Modi government has failed to condemn these actions, raising concerns over India’s growing alignment with US imperialism.

SFI condemns the ongoing conflicts exacerbated by the US, including the war in Ukraine, its economic warfare through tariffs, and its support for Israel's genocide in Palestine. The US has also imposed sanctions on nations like Cuba and Venezuela, undermining global peace and international institutions like the UN. The SFI sees the US as the greatest threat to world peace, with its hegemonic influence worsening global instability and deepening capitalist failure. The Modi government's inability to stand against this aggression, especially in light of its increasing subservience to the US, is a source of concern for those who believe in India's sovereignty and anti-imperialist tradition.

The Modi government's actions, such as bowing to US pressure on trade and energy policies, are viewed by SFI as an abandonment of India's self-respect and sovereignty. The current regime's capitulation to American imperialism contrasts sharply with India's anti-colonial past. The SFI calls on the student community to rise in protest against these efforts to re-colonise the world, organising rallies across major Indian campuses. The statement was released by Adarsh M Saji, President of SFI, and Srijan Bhattacharyya, General Secretary of SFI.
