Pakistani troops shell areas near LoC, woman killed

Srinagar: Nargis Begum was killed and two of her family members injured after Pakistani troops launched heavy shelling across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials reported on Friday. The Indian Army responded proportionately to the unprovoked aggression.
According to officials, Pakistani forces violated the ceasefire late Thursday night, targeting several civilian areas in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The affected locations included Silikot, Boniyar, Kamalkote, Mohra, and Gingle. The shelling caused extensive damage to civilian structures and triggered panic, forcing many residents to flee their homes.
Begum and her family were attempting to escape the shelling in their car near Mohra when a shell struck the vehicle. All three occupants sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Begum later succumbed.Security forces remain on high alert as authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
