Mumbai: Rohit Pawar, the nephew of late Ajit Pawar has raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding the plane crash that led to the tragic death of the former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. In a press conference, Rohit Pawar suggested possible sabotage and called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

He specifically questioned the background of Captain Sumit Kapoor, who was the pilot of the plane at the time of the crash. He pointed out that Kapoor had previously been suspended for three years for drinking. Additionally, Rohit expressed concerns over the maintenance of the plane and demanded an inquiry into the activities of the airline involved in the accident.

He also raised suspicions regarding the VSR Company, the owner of the crashed Learjet aircraft. Rohit alleged that the company holds significant influence over DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) officials and could potentially obstruct the investigation. He accused the company of attempting to control the investigation process, noting that it was progressing too slowly.

“The investigation should be completed before crucial evidence is tampered with,” Rohit said, urging the government to cancel all contracts with VSR Ventures. He further pointed out serious doubts surrounding VSR, the company Arrow, which made the booking, and Captain Sumit Kapoor.

Ajit Pawar tragically died in the plane crash on January 28 while en route to Baramati on a chartered flight.
