New Delhi: Bollywood star Ranveer Singh’s latest film "Dhurandhar" has had a spectacular start at the box office. The film collected over 27 crore rupees on its opening day, marking the biggest opening of Ranveer Singh’s career.

Earlier estimates had predicted first-day collections between 15 to 18 crore rupees, but “Dhurandhar” surpassed all expectations. It has even broken the opening record of the 2025 hit "Saiyaara" (21.50 crore rupees), and exceeded the first-day collections of other hits like “Padmaavat” (24 crore rupees) and “Simba” (20.72 crore rupees).

Released on Friday, December 5, the film recorded an all-India average occupancy of 33.81%. Over 4,000 shows were screened on the first day, with evening shows reaching 55% occupancy.

The Delhi NCR region showed the strongest performance, with about 40% occupancy across 1,371 shows, while Mumbai followed with roughly 35% occupancy across 1,024 screens.

Following the release, Ranveer’s wife and actress Deepika Padukone congratulated him on Instagram: “Watched Dhurandhar—every minute of the 3.34-hour film is precious. Go to a theatre now! I am proud of Ranveer Singh! Congratulations to the entire crew!”

The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in key roles, with Sara Arjun as the leading lady. Produced under the banners of Geo Studios and B62 Studios, the film is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar.
