New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Ganhi, alleged large-scale vote theft in Haryana. During a press conference at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi, he presented documents and images to substantiate his claims.

Among the evidence was a photograph of Brazilian model Matheus Ferrero, whose identity had been used to cast votes 22 times across 10 different booths under various names such as Sweeti, Geeta, Kavita, Seema, and Saraswati. “It is evident that this is not a case of one booth or a single incident; this is coordinated, systematic vote theft,” Rahul said. He alleged that out of Haryana’s total voter population of 2 crore, around 25 lakh votes were fake, amounting to 12.5% of the total voters.

“One in every eight voters in Haryana was a fake voter,” he added. Rahul claimed that the use of a foreign individual’s image as a voter ID, freely available on stock photo websites, is proof of centralized manipulation.

The press conference also included video clips of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and BJP Kerala Vice President Gopalakrishnan, in which they expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory.

Doubling

In one clip, Gopalakrishnan openly stated, “From Jammu to Kashmir, we can include the names of anyone we want.”

“The Election Commission can easily remove duplicates, fake entries, and all irregularities instantly — there’s no need for AI to do this. Yet the ECI has deliberately not acted, clearly to protect the BJP,” Rahul alleged.

He further cited instances of BJP leaders from Uttar Pradesh, including Sarpanch Dal Chand and Mathura Sarpanch Prahlad, whose names appeared in Haryana’s voter lists, suggesting residents of UP had allegedly voted in Haryana.

He added that similar irregularities had been observed earlier in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra, but the focus on Haryana revealed the scale of the problem more clearly.

“Even the ballot votes reflected Congress’s lead, yet everything was manipulated. This was a systematic, state-wide effort,” he said. Rahul criticised the Election Commission, questioning why duplicate entries were not removed.

Expanding the allegations beyond Haryana, he claimed that the BJP has engaged in similar tactics in Maharashtra and at the national level, including Lok Sabha elections, and is attempting the same in Bihar.

“The people are alert, and no one can steal from them. Vote chor gaddi chhod,” he said.

Rahul reiterated his earlier warning that he would reveal “explosive evidence” of electoral manipulation, calling the previous disclosures about Mahadevpura in Maharashtra only an “atom bomb” compared to the evidence presented now. The BJP has not yet issued an official response to these allegations.
