President and Prime Minister Extend Greetings on Kerala Piravi

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu extended warm greetings to the people of Kerala on the occasion of Kerala Piravi, marking the state's formation on November 1, 1956. In her message on social media platform X, she praised Kerala’s contributions to the country’s progress and expressed her hopes for the state’s continued growth and achievements.
"Warm greetings to the people of Kerala on their Formation Day! Kerala has made remarkable contributions to India’s development. May the state continue to reach new milestones in its journey of progress," President Murmu wrote.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished the people of Kerala on Kerala Piravi Day, recognizing the state's excellence in various sectors globally. He commended the people of Kerala for their creativity and innovation and emphasized the state’s rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty.
"Warm wishes on Kerala Piravi! This is a state whose people have been excelling in diverse sectors globally and have distinguished themselves for their creativity as well as innovation. The state's scenic landscapes and centuries-old heritage reflect India's vibrant cultural grandeur. May the people of Kerala always be blessed with good health and success," PM Modi wrote.
Meanwhile, on Kerala Piravi Day, November 1, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan declared Kerala as an extreme poverty-free state. The announcement was made during a special session of the Legislative Assembly.
The Chief Minister explained that the decision to eradicate extreme poverty was made during the first Cabinet meeting after the new ministry was sworn in in 2021. He noted that this declaration marks the beginning of fulfilling an important promise made to the people of Kerala during the assembly elections.
