Bidar: A key government review meeting in Karnataka’s Bidar district was disrupted on Monday following a physical confrontation between a BJP MLA and a Congress MLC. The incident took place during the district-level quarterly meeting of the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) at the Zilla Panchayat Hall in Bidar town. The meeting was being chaired by Karnataka Forest Minister and District In-charge Minister Eshwar Khandre when the clash erupted.


According to sources, BJP MLA Siddu Patil and Congress MLC Bhimrao Patil began exchanging sharp words over alleged forest land encroachment issues in the Humnabad constituency. What started as a verbal argument quickly escalated, with both leaders hurling abusive remarks at each other, disrupting the proceedings of the official meeting.


Eyewitnesses said the confrontation intensified when the Congress MLC stood up from his seat and moved towards the BJP MLA in an apparent attempt to physically attack him. A police officer and government officials present at the venue intervened immediately and restrained him, preventing the situation from spiralling further out of control.


A video of the altercation, showing the two legislators shouting and pointing fingers at each other inside the meeting hall, soon surfaced on social media and triggered widespread criticism.
