Economist Parakala Prabhakar to Join Protest Against CEC Gyanesh Kumar; To Participate Alongside Anti-SIR Collective

New Delhi: Economist Parakala Prabhakar, husband of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, will join a public protest in Delhi on October 23 demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and a halt to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
He will participate in the protest organised by the People Against SIR collective.
The collective comprises more than 200 political, social and civil rights activists. It plans to establish protest centres in different parts of the country, modelled on Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The protests will be held under the slogan, “A tricolour in every hand, a Jantar Mantar on every street.”
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha and left-wing student organisations have also announced their support for the agitation.
