Six Injured as Nine-Seater Aircraft Crashes After Take-off in Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Six people were injured after a small aircraft crashed in Rourkela, Odisha. The aircraft, which was flying from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela, went down shortly after take-off. The nine-seater aircraft crashed immediately after take off. Those injured include two pilots and four passengers. The aircraft was being operated by Captain Naveen Kadanga and Captain Tarun Srivastava.

The accident occurred after the aircraft had flown approximately 10 kilometres from Bhubaneswar. The flight was scheduled to land in Rourkela at 1.15 pm. Eyewitnesses said the pilots attempted an emergency landing near Jalda following a technical malfunction, but the aircraft lost control during landing and crashed.

Three units of the fire and rescue services, along with police personnel and local residents, carried out rescue operations immediately after the incident. All the injured were safely evacuated from the aircraft and rushed to a nearby hospital. Rescue operations at the crash site were coordinated by the Fire and Emergency Services Command Centre. The Transport Minister said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
