PM Modi Meets Putin, Calls for Efforts to End Russia-Ukraine War

Bishkek: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a high-level meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. Modi said India supports all peace efforts aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. He told Putin that every day the war continues is pushing humanity backwards and suggested both sides to work together to end the hostilities.

Modi recalled that India, the land of the Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi, has always presented the path of peace to the world. He stressed that it is essential for the welfare of humanity that the world move away from endless wars towards ending conflicts.

The two leaders met in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Regional security and bilateral relations were among the issues discussed during the meeting.
