Manipur: Clash Between Army and Militants

Imphal: An encounter broke out between Indian troops and militants in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Wednesday night. According to police, the encounter occurred after a militant group opened fire on an army post.


Security forces are conducting a joint search operation following the gunfight, which lasted about 30 minutes. The incident took place around 11:40 PM. An armed Kuki group opened fire on the Indian Army post in Phoubakchao Awang Leikai. In retaliation, the Indian Army and the 58th Battalion of the CRPF, deployed in the area, responded to the firing.


A joint search operation was launched by the Army, CRPF, Police, and the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) in the areas where the firing occurred and in the nearby hilly regions.


The situation is being closely monitored, and authorities have urged people not to spread false information.
