LDF Wins Mahe Constituency in Puducherry

Mahe: The LDF has won in the Mahe constituency in Puducherry's assembly election, with LDF-backed independent candidate Advocate T Ashokkumar winning by a margin of 1,115 votes over Congress candidate Ramesh Parambath. Ashokkumar polled 8,375 votes to Parambath's 7,260, while BJP candidate A Dineshan received 6,969 votes.

Ashokkumar is a prominent advocate known for public interest litigation, having filed a petition in the Supreme Court over local body elections in Puducherry. He serves as a member of the All India Lawyers Union state committee, and holds leadership positions in several organisations including the Mahe Hockey Association, the District Football Association, Lions Club, and the Mahe Cycle Club.
