Leh: A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck Leh in Ladakh early this morning, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The tremor occurred at 3:54 AM, with its epicenter 150 km deep underground.

The quake was felt in Leh's northwest region. It lasted a few seconds, prompting panicked residents to rush out of their homes, but no casualties or damage have been reported.

Ladakh, part of the seismically active Himalayan belt, experiences frequent tremors. Experts note that the deep epicenter limited surface shaking. Similar minor quakes hit various parts of Ladakh last month, and authorities are monitoring the situation with no cause for alarm.
