Bengaluru: CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan on Monday said reports suggesting differences within the party over the issue of “bulldozer raj” in Karnataka were false and misleading.

Speaking at a press conference, Govindan said there was no objection from the CPI(M)’s Karnataka unit to the intervention of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan or other party leaders on the issue under the Congress government in the state. He accused sections of the media of circulating incorrect information and creating confusion.

M.V. Govindan also rejected reports claiming that the Karnataka unit had opposed Kerala leaders visiting victims of the alleged bulldozer actions in Yelahanka, describing such claims as entirely baseless.

CPI(M) Karnataka State Secretary K. Prakash issued a separate clarification, terming the reports “false”. He said the party expected the media to correct the misinformation and ensure accurate reporting.
