New Delhi: Popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has strongly criticised the crackdown in Delhi, alleging that he was abducted by goons sent by the central government and that what happened to him was not an arrest.

Rathee made the allegations in a video shared on his social media handles. Responding to the BJP leaders's claim that he was not an Indian citizen, Rathee held up his passport and asserted that he was an Indian citizen entitled to all the rights guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.

“This is my Indian passport. I am an Indian citizen, and I will continue to be one. The reports about my citizenship carried by Godi media, as well as its coverage justifying the mass arrests in Delhi, are all false,” he said.

He said that several uniformed individuals arrived while he was sleeping in his bedroom on Saturday morning. According to Rathee, they were not police officers but people who forcibly entered his house and abducted him.

“They dragged me away without even giving me time to put on my shoes. They put me in a jeep and took me from one police station to another. They did not even allow me to make a phone call or speak to a lawyer,” Rathee said.

He accused the Modi government of running an authoritarian regime and pointed out that he turned the nation to a dictatorship.
