Dharmasthala, Karnataka: The religious institution, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, has officially expressed support for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into grave allegations involving crimes against women and the reported discovery of unidentified bodies in the sacred pilgrimage town.

The case, initially registered at the Dharmasthala police station, has sparked widespread public outcry and media scrutiny. In response to mounting pressure and the seriousness of the accusations, the Karnataka government has transferred the investigation to a high-level SIT comprising senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers.

While questions have surfaced around the proximity of some incidents to the temple town, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala has distanced itself from the controversy and reiterated its faith in due process. In a formal statement, spokesperson K Parshwanath Jain emphasised the importance of transparency and public trust. "We strongly hope the SIT will carry out a thorough and impartial inquiry to uncover the facts," he said.

The institution also affirmed its commitment to cooperate fully with the investigation, calling for a fair and independent process. Authorities, including the state police and government, have not issued any definitive conclusions, noting that the probe remains in its early stages.

With growing national attention and heightened sensitivity around the issue, the investigation is expected to unfold under close observation from both the public and legal community.
