Three Killed as Illegal Coal Mine Collapses in Jharkhand

Dhanbad: At least three people were killed after an illegal coal mine collapsed in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district on Sunday morning. Several others are suspected to be trapped under the debris.
The accident occurred around 7 am at Keshalpur Kumarpatty in the Katras area, where several people had entered a mine tunnel to extract and collect coal.
The roof of the tunnel suddenly collapsed, trapping several people under the debris. Local residents rushed to the site following the accident and began efforts to clear the rubble.
Bimalesh Choubey, regional president of the National Colliery Mazdoor Union, said three people who suffered serious injuries had died. Rescue operations are continuing amid fears that several others may still be trapped at the site.
Authorities have ordered an investigation into the accident.
