New Delhi: Flight services in the national capital were severely disrupted due to dense fog and poor visibility. On Wednesday, 16 flights were cancelled at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

Of these, 11 were inbound flights scheduled to arrive in Delhi, while five were outbound departures. As the fog intensified, hundreds of flights were delayed, with drastically reduced visibility affecting runway operations.

Delhi Airport, which handles around 1,300 flights daily, saw widespread delays that also impacted operations at other airports across the country. Passengers were left stranded at the airport for hours, facing significant inconvenience.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said that airport operations are gradually returning to normal. Flight schedules are being rearranged as visibility conditions improve.

However, authorities have warned that fog is likely to persist in the coming days and have advised passengers to check flight timings with their respective airlines before traveling.
