Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Attacked by Youth During Public Meeting

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked by a youth at her official residence earlier today. The incident occurred during a weekly public interaction program held every Wednesday, where citizens are invited to share their grievances and suggestions directly with the Chief Minister.
According to reports, the attacker approached the CM under the pretense of submitting a complaint. During the interaction, he suddenly became aggressive and struck her on the face. Witnesses say that the assailant also attempted to hurl a heavy object at her.
The CM was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently undergoing medical evaluation. Officials have confirmed that her injuries are not life-threatening, but she is being kept under observation as a precaution.
Security staff and police officers present at the overpowered the attacker, a 35-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed. He was taken into custody and is currently being interrogated by Delhi Police to determine the motive behind the attack.
No official statement has been released by the Chief Minister’s Office yet, but sources suggest that the CM is stable and expected to make a recovery soon.
