17-Year-Old Girl Gang-Raped in Delhi; One Accused Arrested, Two Absconding

New Delhi: A 17-year-old girl was gang-raped at a park near Delhi's Kalkaji Temple on Monday evening. The incident occurred around 7 pm when the girl had visited the temple with her 17-year-old male friend.

After visiting the Kalkaji Temple, the two went to a nearby park. A three-member group, aged between 25 and 30, allegedly approached them claiming to be police officers. The men threatened both of them before assaulting the girl.

Police received information about the incident around 8.45 pm. A police team reached the spot, took the girl for a medical examination and recorded her statement. A case has been registered under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

One of the accused was arrested by Delhi Police following an encounter. After an investigation focused on CCTV footage from the area, police apprehended one of the suspects following an exchange of fire with the police team.

Police said a search has been intensified for the other two accused, who remain at large.
