Bomb Threat Forces Dammam-New Delhi Flight to Make Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad

New Delhi: A Dammam-New Delhi flight made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad following a bomb threat. No suspicious object was found during the subsequent security inspection. The aircraft was diverted after a cabin crew member found a tissue paper bearing the word “BOMB” inside the aircraft’s washroom.

As soon as the paper was discovered, the cabin crew alerted the pilot, who contacted air traffic control and diverted the aircraft to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. After landing, the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay away from the main terminal.

All 32 passengers on board were safely evacuated. A bomb squad and security personnel conducted a detailed inspection of the aircraft but found no explosives or other suspicious objects.

Security agencies have launched an investigation to identify the person who left the message in the washroom. Air India Express said the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee had also been informed.
