New Delhi: The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has strongly condemned the U.S. bombing of multiple sites in Venezuela, calling it a blatant act of aggression and a direct assault on the sovereignty of a Latin American nation.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the CPI(M) said the attack follows weeks of military and naval mobilisation by the United States around Venezuela, aimed at enforcing regime change. The party said these actions reveal the real character of the U.S. National Security Strategy 2025, announced in the first week of December 2025.

The CPI(M) noted that the growing concentration of U.S. forces in the Western Hemisphere and Washington’s open assertion of control over the region represent a Trump-era corollary to the Monroe Doctrine, reinforcing a long-standing policy of intervention and domination.

Demanding an immediate end to the aggression, the party called for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops from the Caribbean Sea. It asserted that Latin America must be recognised as a zone of peace and that the United States should not be allowed to interfere in the internal affairs of sovereign countries.

The CPI(M) also urged the United Nations Security Council to pass a resolution condemning the U.S. aggression and called for mounting international pressure on Washington to immediately halt its military actions against Venezuela.
