New Delhi: The continuing violence and attacks on minorities in Bangladesh has raised serious concerns, CPI M general secretary M A Baby said on Twitter from New Delhi.
He cited recent incidents, including the vandalism of Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home and museum in Shahjadpur, and attacks on media houses and cultural institutions such as Chhayanot and Udichi over the past month.
Baby urged authorities to take strict measures to protect lives and livelihoods. He called on the interim government to rein in communal forces and ensure that those responsible for violence are brought to justice.
'Values espoused by the 1971 liberation struggle must be upheld without fail, as peace is integral to prosperity,' he said.
