CJP Accuses Centre of Betraying Youth, Plans Second Phase of Protest

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has alleged that the assurances given by the Central government to end the youth protest at Jantar Mantar have not been fulfilled. According to reports, CJP's national working committee will meet on Monday to prepare for the second phase of the agitation against what it described as the Centre's betrayal. A final decision will be taken at the meeting.
The CJP said the Centre's withdrawal from its commitments amounted to a betrayal of the country's youth. The organisation alleged that the government had failed to honour the assurances it gave after the protest was withdrawn on July 25. It also pointed out that the Supreme Court had asked the Centre three times to submit a list of FIRs registered against the protesters, but the government had failed to do so.
When the protest was called off, the Centre had also agreed to demands including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET question paper leak, withdrawal of cases registered against the protesters, and payment of Rs 1 crore to the families of students who died by suicide.
The CJP said it would not allow the government to humiliate an entire generation and indicated that further action would be decided after the national working committee meeting.
