CITU Workers Storm Jantar Mantar Protest Site After CPI(M) Leaders Arrested

New Delhi: CITU workers stormed the Jantar Mantar protest site after CPI(M) leaders were arrested. The workers, who arrived in a procession, rushed into Jantar Mantar following the arrests. Delhi Police are attempting to stop and detain them.

There were also attempts by central security forces to use force against protesters, with several people allegedly being targeted with batons. Delhi Police resorted to force as Left organisations unexpectedly joined the protest.

The police were using force without even allowing the protesters to stage a demonstration, said Elamaram Kareem. Protesters were being subjected to lathi charges, while Delhi Police were dragging CPI(M), SFI and DYFI leaders along the road before taking them into custody.
