Complaint Filed Against Vijay Before Tamil Nadu Child Rights Commission Over Emotional Explotation of Children for Election Campaign

Chennai: An organisation called Child Rights Watch has filed a complaint before the Tamil Nadu Child Rights Commission against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president and actor Vijay, alleging that children were emotionally exploited for political gain by being made part of his election campaign.
The complaint alleges that using children to make emotional appeals for votes is illegal, and points to videos circulating widely on social media showing children crying and even refusing food out of devotion to Vijay. The organisation has argued that such trends harm children's mental health and has demanded that the Commission take suo motu cognisance of the matter and register a case against Vijay.
The organisation has also demanded a strict ban on the use of children in political campaigns, professional counselling for the children who appeared in the videos, and a public apology from Vijay. A letter conveying these demands has also been sent directly to him.
